Church History
The First Baptist Church of Woodridge was organized and incorporated in 1959, the same year that the village of Woodridge was incorporated. It began in a home of one of the charter members. Two years later a building was acquired for its first permanent home. Some time later another building was built near what is now toll way 355. As plans were made for the toll way, First Baptist acquired the location at 6613 Taylor Drive in 1972. The building began as a parsonage as well as a place of worship. The Church was expanded in 1986 and in 1992 1.25 acres of land was purchased in addition to their original parcel. The first parsonage was purchased in 1984 and the second parsonage was purchased in 1994. First Baptist Church is an independent, fundamental, evangelistic, separated Baptist Church. The goal has always been to spread the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ through preaching, witnessing, missions, and programs of the church. A vital part of the ministry is to help Christians grow in their spiritual lives to fulfill God's purpose through them. To strengthen marriages and families in the Lord Jesus Christ. First Baptist Church has had four pastors since 1970 at the present location at 6613 Taylor Drive, Woodridge, Illinois.
